Damn HF for extending the BF sale this weekend. I made it through last weekend without going and getting the 44" cabinet on sale for $400 but now I'm reconsidering. I love the series 2 boxes and am thinking that a new 44" cabinet with a 26" chest is in my future. I'll purchase both new as I have decided that I like the blue boxes better than the other colors. I like the drawer layout on the 26" upper so, I'll probably stick with it rather than getting the 44" upper.

Currently, I own the Series 2 US General boxes/carts:
  • 26"x22" Cabinet/Chest Combo in red
    • Lives in the Shop
    • 85% full with wrenching tools and woodworking tools
  • 5 Drawer Cart in blue
    • Lives in the Shop
    • 95% full with pneumatic tools, cordless tools and electrician tools
  • 4 Drawer Cart in black
    • Lives in the Garage
    • 95% full with household tool set and 3d printer parts/tools

My thought is that the new/blue 44" cabinet and the new/blue 26" chest will basically replace both the red 26" set and the blue 5 drawer in shop. I think I'll probably sell the red set on CL. From there I'll slide the blue 5 drawer into the garage and sell off the black 4 drawer.

:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti I don't know that sounds like a lot of work. :lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

You won't be disappointed. I bought a red 44" cabinet last year (paid $470) and just bought a matching top chest a few weeks ago for $270 with the NO EXCLUSION coupon. Picked it up 2 days ago since it was out of stock. I couldn't be happier.

Well, none of the 3 stores close to me have the blue 44" in stock. I guess tomorrow I'll have to decide whether to grab another color or pre-order a blue one. :headscrat

I was undecided on Green or the Yellow boxes, once I saw the green it store it was a very easy choice. Just wish it had some black accents on the drawers. I Liked the orange as well but nothing better than Green for me.

I bought a green box on BF but they did not have it in stock so they ordered it. Anybody know how long it takes when they order it? It's been a week and no call yet!

Welp, I went in and purchased the blue one on pre-sale for $400. With what I already have I'm not in any hurry, if it takes a couple weeks or a couple months to arrive at the store, I'll be fine with it. The computer indicated it should be arriving the end of the month but again I don't really care as it will give me some time to start shuffling things around.

They were able to tell me when I bought the boxes how long it would take. It shows on their register if they go to the right page. On my green 72" roller they told me it would be one week and danged it wasn't exactly a week later that they called me to come pick it up. Later, when I bought a green side drawer, they told me 3 weeks. I thought naw...ya'll got a big 'ol 72" roller here in a week, it'll be quicker than that. But once again, they were right on the money. 3 weeks is exactly how long it took.

You could use some black spray paint on the white paper card stock strips that come for labeling the drawers. That should give you a nice black accent.

My handwriting ***** so I ending up using my $5 yard sale find Brother P Touch labeler for the drawers on mine. In case I decided to rearrange the drawers, I didn't even peel off the backing. I just used two small pieces of scotch tape on each end to stick them to the white card stock strips and then put the included clear strips over them and pushed in the plastic end caps. If the plastic end caps don't stay in, my plan was to use a dab of clear RTV silicone on them but so far, so good!

OK I went and looked at these things again today and I still plan on putting the 26" on top of the 44". I just really like the 26" top drawer layout and the 44" top just doesn't do it for me. With that being said I MAY add the locker or the side end cabinet. That's another $180 after coupon but it might make sense... I'm probably leaning towards the locker on the tall side of my set-up.

In any case, I'm looking forward to getting things rearranged.

Doing the shuffle this weekend. I'm going from an old 42" with side cabinet to a sereis 2 56" top, bottom and locker.

call your store and make sure that they have the right sku for what you want and they actually placed the order. I "bought" a 56 and locker Oct 27th and am still waiting because the mouth breather doing orders forgot about it until Nov when I called to check that status.

Great Idea, Now I need a label maker. It never stops, but my handwriting is horrible as well.

Check out Brady for labels... I'm a bit of a label freak... I love my BMP21 ... stick with the cloth tape.

I put the labels on magnetic strips... so they can easily be moved around.

You will need a heat gun to flatten the mag strips if they come in a coil.

Remove the silver drawer pulls and get them powder coated or paint them.

i'd be careful doing anything too permanent with the white card stock strips. after a few years they turn black and moldy. I ended up throwing mine out when they did. And no, my shop isn't humid or anything, just the paper they use is made from something that grows like a petri dish...
