I was wondering the pros and cons of each? Which one is better?
Which Homak series are you looking at? The RS2 series is probably most comparable in terms of construction (material thickness) to the USG. The biggest differences are going to be the extra 2 inch depth in the Homak, the drawer layouts (extra full-length drawer on the USG), the drawer latching mechanism, and of course the price (Homak being about double for a given size.) Homak also offers a 36" option which isn't available in the USG.

The Homak 54" RS Pro vs US General 56" Series 3. I should've been more specific. I outgrew my older Craftsman 26 1/2" tool box. All of my tools are buried in it.

i wouldn't say current series 3 us gen is a win win, price and design/quality not what it was .
Homak needs a good sales deal before it good value,
currently none of the box store offerings are amazing box or value .

Well, Idk abt Homak but I saw the the 3 series this weekend at the local HF, I wasn't that impressed. I have the 2 series and the 3 felt a tab flimsier. But I need to to back and go hands on agsin to verify Im not losing my mind. I almost bought a matching 2 roller cart just cause they had it on display.

I prefer the Homak RS line of boxes. The extra depth and the latch system make it so much better. But I don’t get why Homak put the latches inside the drawer. It kinda makes it a pain to make sure nothing is getting in the way of the latch system. All the other boxes that use a latch have them outside of the drawer.

The only reasons I went with a US General cart are the color and store pick-up. I wanted a yellow box and after reading about how many guys had to deal with shipping damage via Homak or Napa, I felt seeing the HF in person was the smarter play for me.

I do believe Napa is now selling a rebranded Homak RS box under the Carlyle name if you are interested.

The Craftsman Griplatch has the latch inside the drawer. Yes, I know everyone here hates the Cman boxes.... but the latch works awesome. You do lose about 1/4" on each side of the drawer for the initial 2-3". Small price to pay IMO.

it may seem like small price to pay but if you move a box around a lot it could be quite problematic if stuff moves and jams the lock .
really is piss poor design putting lock latches on inner side of drawer and only done for ease of manufacturing .
the masterforce boxes do good latch design & 24"deep boxes .
