us made goodwrench

several years ago i purchased a set of us made wrenches at my local sam's club. some where along the line i lost the 7/16 wrench. i don't know who made them, but they are very nicely made long handle full polish wrenches made in the us. i know that there are cheopo gm goodwrench tools out there but this isn't one of them. does anyone have any info or better yet one of those wrenches i could borrow.

A lot of the hand tools that sam's club and costco sell are sometimes just advertisment tools. Meaning you'll see names like "Snap-On" and "Channellock" on the product, but it is in fact not even made by them. I think it does them more harm than good to these companies, because it's usually cheap junk and it's those good company names that get ruined when the product fails. I can't believe that Snap-On and Channellock allow their name to be misrepresented like that. All for advertising and marketing.

In your case you seem to have gotten a good set of wrenches, but not sure how you can replace one lost one of the same brand.

pictures of goodwrench set made in us. wrenches show some wear from being in a mobile box for years. the missing 7/16 number would be 41414. the finish was very good and they also appear to have some type of flank drive along with thicker handle, they have a nice feel. maybe someone can tell us who made them.

I think I would have to guess Stanley as the likely OEM.

I have a few USA marked Stanley polished wrenches around that I will try to post a picture of for comparison.

K Tool International has the 41414 as a 7/16 combo. Definitely no longer USA made.

I noticed that too. It is a six point wrench though. The 12 point polished K tool wrench is a similar number though. It seems many 7/16 combo wrenches have the #14 at the end of the part number.

the stanley is too short and is satin finish, it could be the husky. who made that wrench for them? sorry guys, you posted before i finished. where either one of those wrenches ever us made? it also looks similar to the ace polished wrench but i don't think they were ever us made either.

Many of the inch pattern wrenches use the number of 32's for the last digit. In this case 14/32 for 7/16.

Those Stanleys are actually polished even if they don't look it in the picture.

Those Huskys are made by Stanley as well. Home Depot should have one but it won't say USA any more.

There may also have been similar wrenches made under the Master Mechanic and Blackhawk name.

I think I may have stumbled across some information on your missing wrench.

T&E Tools has a fully polished 7/16 wrench with the part # 41414 in their catalog. At least at one time, the T&E wrenches were U.S.A stamped. I don't know if they actually manufactured the wrenches or if they were made by a third party.

looks like a match. did i catch the location correctly? new south wales. not exactly down the street. i thought this thread was gone. funny how things come back to life on here. maybe they have a us counterpart. i have seen that brand before. it always seemed to be repackaged or closeout stuff. are they alligned with someone? it looks like they have a pretty complete lineup. thanks for finding it mad.

I did not catch that location at first. The wrench set on eBay listed a Chicago home for T&E Tools. I wonder what the history is. Maybe if you send them an email, they could tell you the source of your wrench.

i bought some cheap "mechanics tools" wrenches at napa that look exactly like those too.
