My HD has the stainless ones that are US made w/ wooden handles. I forget the brand, Marshall or Marshalltown maybe? They are made in CA.

Best drywall knife Ive ever used was writing a check to a taper. But hey he was born in the US so I guess he is US-made!

Marshalltown is good. Craftsman also has a good stainless knife. I also recall getting something very nice at Ace hardware, but I forget the brand.

I have one with the name "ALLWAY" on it. It's a SS blade with a #2 phillips bit in the handle, but no COO on it. I got it at Menards.

I've been happy with it, though it is a tad bit too stiff.
