USA Craftsman nut splitter blade?

Was the USA craftsman nut splitter based on another design/company where I could find a replacement blade? I know I can get the current Stanley Craftsman offering at Lowes for free replacement but the reviews on it are beyond terrible. I'd like to spend a few bucks and find a new blade. The blade is easily replaceable with a detent ball built in to hold it in and comes right out. I can't find anything online but I figured I'd ask.

I know it might be a waste of time but have you tried calling Sears parts ?? They actually still had some parts for my 1962 Craftsman / Atlas lathe a couple of years ago.

for all the trouble id just buy a good used US made one off fleabay? or grind your own from an old HSS drill bit? its a pretty crude tool- saved me when my shock nut was so siezed on my camaro, spent hours cos it was in such a stupid tight hole, then I discovered this tool and finally got it bust off!

I've had mine for well over 10 years and only used it once as well and it too was a shocknut......luckily it worked but when I backed off the press the blade fell apart. I'll probably just hang on to it forever in hopes that New Craftsman decides to build a better version and then go for that. If they discontinue the Craftsman version they will probably just give me this:

Long shot - Stop by your local NAPA with it in hand and compare it to the NAPA/Carlyle offerings and at the same time inquire if they offer replacement chisels.

Good Luck

They do a decent job. But they’re dependent on having a decent surface to work against. If it’s rounded or damaged it’s kind of a giant ***** to use them in my experience
