Nothing against the quality as I will most definitely be picking them up if I can’t find anything made in USA that’s comparable. But looking at the knipex 00-20-04 sb 8 piece set I love that everything is fixed. No bothering with flipping the screw around, no set screws holding the bits in etc. just the right pliers for the job. I always at least attempt to buy USA if I can but I can’t seem to find anything direct or even comparable. Anyone know of anything? Checked out Lang, channel lock, and snap on and all have the things I’m trying to avoid

This is Bahco so Snap-on sure has it
Bahco is a Swedish company that is part of SNA Europe. It puts money in Snap On's pocket but is not made in USA, providing any manufacturing jobs for US workers. Are we looking for Made in USA, Manufactured in USA,but foreign owned or Manufactured off shore but American owned? There are examples of all three. I am not addressing which is best.

I’m trying to find ones more in line with a standard set of pliers. No reversible ones. The closest I really found were these but I can’t find a set

There isn't a direct US made match for the knipex set unfortunately. Plenty of US made snap ring pliers, many of which are the same set rebadged by different brands. Save yourself grief and just buy the Knipex set.
The second set of pliers linked are for lock rings and aren't the same.

I’ve never cared for reversible but that’s just my personal preference. I have the channel lock 927s branded bluepoint, but the issue I have with them is the bits. They’re not uniform and very brittle so it’s been relegated to home use

If you're set on USA I think you're out of luck. Astro Pneumatic has some very reasonably priced snap ring pliers in the Knipex style. Meaning using hardened pins for the tips. Made in either China or Taiwan but of high quality. That's were I'd go.

I just bought the Knipex set after using the Lang ones for a couple years. There really is no substitute for the Knipex.

You can save a buck buying knipex from amazon.de

This set is $92 shipped to the US.

Haha took me a minute as I don’t read German so when I receive 20 sets it’s surely cause I just kept clicking the yellow link adding information along the way until I saw a date in green haha. Also if anyone else tries... “Vereinigte Staaten von Amerik”

If you look immediately down and to the right of the magnifying glass on the main search box located at the top of the page, you can change it from Deutsch to English. There's a little globe icon there.

I’m not that smart. But that deal was too good to pass even if expected delivery isn’t until July 17

Fixed tip retaining ring pliers have always been available from Imperial Stride. A couple of newer version convertible pliers are the Cam-Lock and QTR-Turn. They are rebranded by everyone Mac, SK, Proto and others. I use the Proto quarter turn pliers

Holycrapolony Batman! Clicking on this thread just cost me $50.
Thanks for sending me down that rabbithole turnthewrench 2.0. :D
Had no idea I needed to add to my collection of snap-ring pliers.

But $53.51 delivered for a set that costs twice that on this side of the pond.
I. Just. Could. Not. Resist.

Had to get out of there before I spent more.
But I have a feeling once I get my hands on these I'll be forced to go back for more Kneee-pex goodness.

I noticed four shipping options on Amazon.de - is it safe to select the cheapest one? I see something about Amazon Global taking care of customs issues, but costs more.

Looks like I'm going to find out, because I never even considered any of the shipping options other than the cheapest. I've bought quite a bit of stuff over the years from China, Taiwan, South Korea, etc before and other than the occasional really long delay in Customs (stuff from Canada that sat in Chicago customs was always the worst for me by far - stuff often sat there for several weeks without moving) it's all made it here eventually. I sure hope this won't be any different.

I choose the cheapest one from Amazon.de. And it always gets to me faster than Amazon.com orders. One comes from across the ocean, one usually comes from 6 miles away.

Figure that one out.

Was checking out the cobras but don’t really need them and the price difference wasn’t really worth it. But I will definitely be back in the future

I know you said nonreversable but I really like my channellocks

Are those rebranded or made by Channellock?

I have a set of Craftsman Lang/Kastar that I like quite a lot. Don't need more but always curious about the CL ones.

What's the benefit of non reversible snap ring pliers? I don't use them often enough to need more than what I have or find any kind of difficulty with mine.

IME, the non reversible ones are much less flimsy.

I seem to break one those little bits about every other time I use them.
