Looking for something like OTC's 27794. I like how I can stack up various disks as I need to match up the inner and outer diameters of bushings. The set the shop provides is missing pieces and pretty banged up from misuse. So I was looking to buy my own set but all I find in Made in China with poor reviews on how they hold up to daily use.

My China set from Autozone has held up fine for years now. I never saw much need for much precision in aluminum disks for seals and races. Specialized equipment sure but for everyday trucks trailers and cars not so much

I have had that OTC set for close to 20 years and love it. Much better than the stepped driver kits out there because you can choose the sizing you want.

My advice, buy it....you won't regret it.

Find a buddy with a lathe? You might as well turn a whole set though, my heat treat guy charges by the pound...

Lisle's bearing and race driving sets are made in U.S.A. I'm not familiar with he O.T.C. tool listed. They might not be similar like I'm thinking.

The set I'm looking at is steel, aluminum won't hold up to what I'm doing. Do these go by a different name that I don't know so I can look them up that way? No luck with cripe distributing

No. The OTC set is the only US-made driver set with the individual discs.

OTC doesn't make much in the US anymore. Are you sure that's made here? I wouldn't think so

some are still made in us i believe. but $300+ for that kit is overkill for home mechanic.

Snap on makes one too, albeit with less disks(10 or so). Its a pretty substantial tool, well built and USA made.

Some of the other SO puller parts will work, the bushing installer is a good setup.
The seal drivers also help to increase range.
Then a lathe to make the custom ones.

I couldn't find COO on the OTC set either thus my hesitation in buying their set, we have had to reorder some OTC tools that have broken and the Taiwan or Chinese COO tools are very subpar compared to the previous version. I don't care for the SO ones as I like to stack two disks together to customize the fit. Thanks Skin

I think a lot of you guys are missing the boat. OP is asking about a bushing driver set and a lot of you are yammering on about a race and seal driver set. The former is a handle with “tubes” with steps cut into the sides for knocking bushings in with. The latter is aluminum disks with a bevel cut on one side and a flat back for knocking bearing races or seals in.
