I was in Home Depot this morning and I noticed the Husky pro screwdrivers for the first time. They appear to be the same as the Craftsman pro screwdrivers but with a cushion grip over hard plastic handle rather than the molded soft handles. They are made in USA and have the same WF mark as the Craftsman pros indicating that they are both made by Western Forge. The tips are grit blasted and some of them have a hex bolster. The store I was in had them packaged individually as well as in sets. I did not buy any but they looked like a good deal. It is interesting to see H.D. source Husky tools from a company other than Stanley and nice to see something made in USA for a change.

reversing a dark trend ????

As the dollar goes through an adjustment, not the first in my lifetime, so I am not as outspoken as the press. You import without balancing exports, it has happened before and will happen again.

The bad thing is you end up paying more for scrap made in the formally cheap country, than the better items it replaced. So for a while we may see a reversing of the trend.

But the big thing that happens is the wonder managers whose one minded idea is outsourcing learn that you have to balance your production around the world to not get stung by changing money values or get fired.
