Do you know what companies are still made in the US?
I found that Hitachi is now called Metabo...Metal-boring, the first word...German...for the first drills.

Still, I want American made only.

Thanks!

If you really want to know, you must ask the company and give them a specific item number or view the packaging before you buy it.

Your example of Metabo & Germany, well Metabo also makes stuff in PRC. Starrett is USA, but also makes items in PRC & Brazil. Milwaukee saw blades are still US made (IIRC), but not sure what power tools (if any) are still US made. Dewalt assemblies a few items in the States and also build items in Mexico. What Snappy makes is also globally made. Wright & SK make their hard-line items in the States, but it is limited to hand tools....

SK is completely made in U.S.A., every item.

If you are looking for American made power tools, not much. DeWalt is assembling a fair amount in the USA. Last I knew, Snap on 18v was made by Sioux in North Carolina. Milwaukee might still make a corded sawzall or two in Brookfield. Otherwise everything is riding over on a boat.

Unless we are talking about a company that only makes a handful of item numbers, everyone is going to have to outsource for stuff that they don't make to round out their product line, be it in the US or globally. Your best bet is to go look up the item numbers you want in the catalogs and find out the COO for each item. COO should be the second, third, or further down priority down your list, not the top priority. What I hate most is when I buy a USA made tool with quality control problems.

All SK's tools are domestically made.

Unless I've been misinformed, Wilde's stuff is all made domestically. They do outsource a few items, like their pick tools, but those are made by Ullman here in the US as well.

As far as I know, Proamerica is all US made product as well.

The point about the "larger companies" outsourcing some of their offerings from offshore is a salient point in the context of this discussion, but there still are some small companies whose products are all domestically produced.
