They were all in the cardboard displays with the other gadgets for Christmas gifts. They never made it on to the year round shelves. I'm sure the stores need to get rid of them to make room for other stuff.

I almost bought one at $9 a week or so ago. I'm sure they will go quickly at this price.

Will that price show up online or store only? Online my local store shows $12.88. I don't want to waste a trip.

Do these hammers ****? I mean that as a serious question. My local Sears is closing, tools have been 50+% off for weeks now...last time I was in there, pratically the only tools left was a complete wall full of Vaughn hammers...all the CMan's, Estwings, Stanley's were all gone...a person could have gotten the entire Vaughn hammer lineup for cheap if they wanted.
Now I read HD is blowing them away for 5 bucks each...makes me wonder. I'd drive 100 miles for a clearance Estwing...LOL

They don't ****. As was discussed on a previous thread, they're a bit light for real framing work at 19 oz., but certainly not worthless. Most framers use hammers from 22 oz. to 28 oz. depending on personal preference.

They're made in the USA, they are nicely finished (I've bought two as spares/helper hammers) and they'll last a long time.

If nothing else, buy them up and give them as gifts in "starter" tool kits. Rip hammers are almost always more useful than claw hammers in my experience.

One store was out :( Gonna try another maybe saturday.

They had husky sets on for a decent price though. Didnt get any though cause I dont need any. 65 piece set was $29.98 now $15 even. Another set was $30 with regular price $49.98. Chinese but Not bad as a spare set.

Are there any left in Northern California Colma store or Westlake store?
