So I noticed on the site that basically everything is back ordered.....is this normal?

Seems like it's normal. I have been waiting on one item to become available. To be fair, it's Williams themselves that is the problem.

I found the same thing on toolsource.com and they let me know it was backordered too. Even said when they thought it would come available. Checked again on that date, and Williams just pushed the date out further.

I don't know if it's the vendor or Williams themselves. I ordered a Williams 100M-19MD screwdriver set from ToolSource in early March. It has been back-ordered twice. ToolSource has been real good about keeping me up to date and respond promptly to any questions or emails. They say it is Williams doesn't have them ready yet. Latest is ship on April 24th. Can't understand how a company can't have a 19 piece screwdriver set available in 2 months time - maybe they haven't came into port yet? :dunno:

cbacres - I saw that too but was curious what "limited stock - more on the way meant". I was going to email them and ask if they actually had a set in stock.

I ordered the same set from toolsource a couple of weeks ago and no word yet, I only got a confirmation email stating the order details.

So I searched the toolsdelivered link above and it looks like they are still back ordered. I think I'm going to cancel with toolsource and try to find them elsewhere. I'm honestly getting tired of ordering stuff and having to search if they actually have it in stock. It's getting old and seems to be getting more common with tool dealers, even people on amazon and ebay are just ordering it then repacking it then shipping it out to you.

I love those old hard handled ones also, I have some 1/4 nut driver handles from snap on and they are my favorite set.

Just call them, I got right through to ask before I ordered, real easy to deal with.

Who knows?
If you're interested, I've got a set of 1/2" drive, shallow, 12 point Williams I'd let go for a fair price. As far as I know they're unused.

The 1/2 deep SAE impact socket set that I have been wanting finally came back in stock. Ordered it up and it came yesterday.

Looks like good quality. Full 19pc set ranging from 3/8 to 1-1/2". Made in the US. These replace my IR set that I bought 12 years ago. Nothing was wrong with them but always wanted a fuller set with the larger sizes.

Amazon.

I got a 3/4 drive US Impact set, 3/4 - 1 5/8 for $231CAD to my door.

Pretty much the same as some of the SO & CAT impact we have in service.

The cynic in my says letting the USA stuff go out of stock is a real good way for Snap on to justify dropping a large part of the range, they already have Taiwan made duplicates, sales figures will be really bad for the USA stuff if you cant actually buy it. Snap On has to increase its profits every quarter somehow.
