$24 is steep!
Myself, I buy vintage wire, brass and horsehair brushes from estate sales when I can. Like a lot of tools, they don't make'em like that anymore.
Milwaukee brushes comes to mind but I don't know where they're made now.

I'm bumping this because Harry Epstein's got all kinds of new USA made wire brushes for unbeatable prices. I have multiple and they all take a beating and I haven't lost a single bristle yet. I highly recommend

I ordered some of the Hazet look-a-likes from Harbor Freight in hopes of comparing them to the USA ones from Epstein's, but they no longer carry them according to an email.

Here is a comparison of the Chinese made Harbor Freight wire brush and the USA made magnolia wire brush that is available at Harry Epstein's.
The USA one is hands down the better brush. I have another that I have used the daylights out of and the bristles still don't look as bad as the brand new Harbor Freight brush.
