these things are getting down in price enough even us home hobby users can get them, but i was curious if anyone had any good/bad experiences with them.

like most people ive seen the handheld ones, but one that just plugs into your computer seems like a great idea. anyways im about to buy one, there is so many out there just curious if anyone has used any of them yet.

heres the one im looking at. http://www.usbfever.com/index_eproduct_view.php?products_id=2162

seems like you just have to make sure to get one that has a head small enough to fit in a spark plug hole, not all do.

I have a wireless Borescope from Matco tools, I am very happy with it. It can record video to flash drive and play back on computer, or live feed to computer via USB or blue tooth connection. Mine cost four hundred and change. A big improvement over the old borescopes.

I am also looking for a borescope, would really appreciate hearing opinions, both good and bad. I especially would appreciate a kit that would provide the option of purchasing/attaching a longer scope end for those hard-to-reach areas.

Thanks in advance!

Google "usb" "borescope" and plenty of hits come up, worth noting is that many cheaper ones are usb 1.1, so maybe a few years old and not working with win7. Until I really "need" one, I'm going to wait for the product to mature.

Things lacking in current generation;

Camera head a tiny bit large, around 14mm, but may not fit in a sparkplug hole.

Fixed minimum focus of about 2.5 inches.

Camera to handle length kinda short.

Poor generic software support, ie different brands may slop together basic software, but it never gets updated, or gets 3rd party support so it maybe works with a new tablet in a couple years etc.

Camera pixels pretty lame, and often lied about by software that makes a 320x240 output a stream that fakes higher resolution.
