I need a 15 amp 240 VAC circuit for my 3' shop exhaust fan. My local (Madison, AL) does not carry 2 pole 15 amp CBs for my box, but they do carry 15 amp single CB (half size). The switch handles have a small hole already cut into them where it appears you can tie the two breakers together with a small bolt.
The fan requires 6 amps at 240 VAC but is convertible to 120 VAC, but I'd prefer to run it at 240 VAC, if possible - and safe! I have plenty of open CB slots in my shop CB box. I plan to use 14/2 with ground for the wiring.
Can I tie the two switch handles together or should I special order a 2 pole 15 amp CB for this box?
Thanks,
