When did they stop making the box-pan brakes out of gold??
Judging from the prices of rusted up, worn out small vintage brakes,, they have to be made of gold.
Now If I wanted a 16' unit, sitting on the 20th floor of a industrial warehouse with no freight elevator,, a dime a dozen.

Please don't let me buy a HF brake, really need one to handle 36" and 14 gauge

How much is too much?

Where are you located?

I bought 2 separate brakes a few years apart for $500 each. My Barth does 48" of 14ga. They're out there.

14ga on a hand brake isn't exactly a walk in the park. That's a lot of stress to put on a box brake.

As mentioned, there is no HF brake that will do what you are asking. 14 Gauge is pretty stout material for a small hand brake. I have a 24" Chicago Box/Pan and a 48"/16 gauge Tennsmith and 16 gauge is ALL they want to do. Not sure what you are looking to spend, but as with most things in life- you get what you pay for. I'd much rather have a rusty, crusty vintage tool that was built to last a lifetime than a cheap import - even if it takes a little more green up front and some elbow grease to bring it back to life.

14 gauge would be a luxury, 16 is a must.
Figured I better get a 14 ga one, if I wanna do 16 ga.
I can get 4822's (48" x 22ga) all day long from HVAC guys.

I'm located in central MD,, a 36-48" unit rated for a true 16ga for 500.00 would be fine by me.
