Used Brake Disc Re-purposing?

A few months ago I replaced the front brake pads and rotors on my F150. Since then I've been stumbling over the old rotors in the corner of the shop and decided it was time to throw them into the pile of to-the-scrapyard junk.

But before I do so, I was wondering if anyone has made or created any clever tools from, or found any good uses for, old brake rotors??

how about quartering a disk and making some book ends?

I've been using my old rotors as weights whenever I need to keep pressure on something while glue sets (most people would just buy another clamp )

Tool stand bases, like a grinder pedestal base, weld a pipe to it and use it for the bottom floor piece. Lifting weights, good for weighted pullups, dips, etc. Resurface and reuse as a disk brake if there is enough material. They are kinda fun to shoot at with a high power rifle Hang them like a gong so they swing. Small forge. Art, A friend of mine made a cool lamp out of a disk brake and an old crank shaft. Other uses? They bigger ones are nicer, and the non ventilated ones are better yet for repurposing. IMHO.

I give mine to my metal guy. I've seen people bolt axles to them and use them as a base to a grinder stand.

Yep, they don't have enough footprint to be good for tall tool stands but I just used a couple as bases for roller stands for my 7x12 bandsaw - - perfect.

There was a thread about this recently. There were some good ideas. At my friends shop we used a couple as wheels for a cart to hold the welding tanks.

I saw a homemade wooden train kids playscape in someones front yard a years ago and it had brake rotors as the wheels.

Wish I had a camera. It was really nice and must have taken forever to build.

That is cool. Me thinks you might need something larger than the typical small tack to hang that puppy up on drywall though.

If you have a milling machine you could turn the rotor to verify that both sides are true and use it as a surface for the dial indicator to ride while tramming the head.

It's obviously limited to it's one diameter, but the grooved end can be used to bend tubing into broad even curves.
