Used Challenger Lift

Hi,
I found a Challenger 2000 lift on Craigslist for $450. It was purchased in '84 and used in a shop until about 10 yrs ago when it was put on a trailer. It was stored outside but the owner said that its been covered with a tarp the whole time.

Is this something worth pursuing or am I in for a lot of headaches and repair costs?

At 450 I would be tempted to take a look.

sounds like a great deal. Maybe do a search on the model to see what support is still available. If you can still buy parts Id be all over it.

I think I would pass. Under a tarp or not, sitting that long, seals in cylinders are probably dried up and split, cables rust, chain links freeze, etc. I think your money can be better used on a lift that was just removed and one laying around for years.
