I live on Fort Leavenworth, KS in military housing. I have done what I can with the garage but would like to put tile down on the floor.

I am hoping that there is someone who is changing out tile, upgrading or whatever that has some that I can get cheap.

My garage is 20' X 22' and I am located just outside of Kansas City, KS/MO

TIA!

I don't see this happening. Tile is glued or cemented down to the floor.wall. Removing it would surly damage a large portion of them.

Am I missing something? Or are you talking about Racedeck?

There was a huge RaceDeck floor on eBay recently that was a good price as long as you don't mind a single color. Check it out, might still be on there.

That auction ended, but they were selling it for $1.75 a sqft(tile). Not a bad price and I think they had something like 9600 sqft of it in the graphite color.

What do you consider cheap? What is your bottom line? Not including shipping of course.

check ebay my friend. Thats your best bet. I know military doesn't pay much, well they didn't pay well when I was in the Marines, but unless you find someone looking to give to charity, it'll be tough to reach your price point. Don't forget it needs to be shipped. The **** is heavy.

why would they not let you do the VCT. this would be a durable upgrade to the housing unit.
either that or just go buy some good stuff and take it with you to be reused in your next place

Duke,

Are you Army? Doing CGSC? Do they still do CGSC?

RaceDeck could be a good investment for you. Go with a real basic design, something that you could easily add to in the future depending on what you get for housing. The fact that you can take it with you makes a lot of sense for a military family. In fact you could just do part of your garage now and add to it as the budget allows. You might try the classifieds here as well. I also was looking for extra tiles to finish another part of my house and got no responses, eBay would be the next best thing or Craigs List. Good luck to you and thanks for your service.

Hey Hellcat,

Yes, am an Army dude. I came here for CGSC (now called ILE), receive follow on orders to the National Simulation Center for three years.

You have some good ideas. I could get enough RaceDeck for my Tiger to sit on and leave the "family" car on concrete. As funds permit, then complete the garage

Duke,

Just had to comment on the Tiger. I had a 67 Tiger at the same time that my dad had an Alpine (early 70's)with a dual weber setup. Being young and stupid however (is there any other way?) I dropped a built 351W into mine along with a shortened 9" out back.

I still miss that car...

Hello All,

Five years later and still no tile in my garage. Still in same house on post. I did go to Korea for a year 2013-2014. I have been using carpet squares under the Tiger but they are moving around and can be dangerous due to slipping. I am still stalking ebay and craigslist.

So, if anyone is upgrading their garage tile and want a home for the old, I am your man!

There's a seller on the Dallas Craigslist selling new, snap-together garage tiles for $1/sq.ft. I'll see if I can find a link.
