Used Mac box drawer slides problems?

I bought a used mac box- MB 1700

When I open the drawers all the way, the roller bearings and cages become exposed (barely 1/4"), making the end bearings fall out.

Is there supposed to be a plastic piece in the end of the slide to stop it from extending too far? There was one gray plastic piece inside a drawer, and I wasn't sure if these had little tabs on them to hold them into the slide, to keep the slide from extending too far.

Some of the drawers have a little more metal tab sticking into the roller area, making them not slide out quite as far, I could weld in a little tab in the ones that go out too far.

Anyone have one of these and can see what I'm talking about? Thanks.

Does Mac have a Lifetime Warranty on their sliders?

If they do, just get new sliders.

On pictures 3 and 5, you're missing the full extension stops.

On that last picture number 6, you're showing a rear detent that is broken in half. That broken rear detent is not related to the missing stops.

You don't need to weld anything. Just replace the slides that are missing their stops.

The MAC MB1700 is one of my most favorite boxes. I'm green with envy.

Thanks guys. I'll pull a drawer out, and see about the missing stops/detents, I'm assuming they mount on the rear of the box?

I'll contact Mac and find out if slides are even available, but I should look into the drawer detents first, so I only have to order once.

I'm also liking this box wamsutta. I've looked for a long time for one (that was reasonably priced). I'm a tall guy (6'6") and I like the height.

I passed on one that had the top box with it, because I didn't like the cabinet doors over the drawers. I also like a chest box only, I can put my tools on top, and clean them up before I put them away.

It seems like its built really well, I think a little tlc now and I should be able to use it for a long time.

The back detents come attached to the slides; so you won't have to get detents separately if you get the slides. However, I know where to get the detents separately if you ever need some.

Accuride makes those slides if MAC doesn't have them. I'm pretty sure their lengths are measured in the closed position and they are called "Bayonet" slides.
