Used Media Blast Cabinet set-up Problems

Hi everyone! I have bought an older media blast cabinet but I have to tell ya, I have no idea how to connect this thing to my air system. I have a Quincy 325 compressor so I am sure I have all the supply air I will need. But the Cabinet has a cyclone attachment and it is just too much to try and figure out without some base knowledge. It is a Uni-Blaster SB5 with a Cyclone type separator mounted on the side of it. I didn't see a bag for the separator. I hope this is as nice a unit as I think it is but honestly I have no idea. I think I basically stole it for about $250. Can someone please find me a diagram on how all of these hoses and lines hook up. I have looked everywhere for weeks and find nothing. I have added some pictures. Thanks in advance for any help given.... Dane

Showkey, I really appreciate you helping me out. I believe I have enough knowledge to get started now. Somehow I was under the impression the dust cyclone had something to do with media recycling and that was making it difficult for me to understand how it all came together. Very good links. I appreciate you. Dane

It's hard to tell by the pictures how your cyclone is set up. I'm not sure why the pipe from the cyclone is connected to the bottom of your cabinet. The blower on the top of the cyclone should be blowing air out of the open end on top.

On mine, I have an air inlet on the rear of the cab, and an outlet on one side. The outlet is connected to the inlet of my dust collector blower, which caught any heavy stuff in a cloth bag. You have to have an air inlet to replace the air that the cyclone takes out.

I could be wrong, but the 2nd pic seems to show that the cyclone is drawing air from the bottom of the cab, in which case I think it would **** out all your sand. Can you post a couple more pix of the cab and the cyclone?

That is correct. The air goes into the cyclone and the lighter worn out particles go out the top into a filter bag. The heavier particles stay in the bottom of the cyclone which is where the suction hose goes to from the gun.

That is exactly how mine is set up.

Yup, I have a very similar setup.. I use rigid pipe for my media return as well as my exhaust because I had little luck with the flex duct..

I have 3 dryers inline about 30 feet from my compressor but I still added a small TP roll style dryer with pressure regulator mounted on the sandblaster air inlet just as an added precaution...

I also have a Y off that air inlet to a hose with a spray nozzle that runs inside the cabinet to blow remaining media off my parts in the hard to reach places before pulling them out.

I want to thank everyone for your help. The cabinet is buried behind some stuff now so more pictures will be difficult till I dig it out. Thanks again!
