Looking on FB , there is a used 24k unit. 2020 unit. They are ask $800, I think it’s not worth that, as Costco has it for 2k, -$600 local rebate and about -$600 federal tax credit brings a new unit to $800 or so.

You’d probably be better off with a new line set? With the used unit. Then you’d need a hvac guy to vac and charged the used unit.

Not worth it. Buy new, comes with pre-charged line set, warranty, etc.
That what I was thinking, anyone know if on a new unit , I take it has the unit and lines are both pre-charged?

Thought about offering $300/400ish

Verify the terms to claim the local rebate. There was a similar one with my local utility provider...but had to be installed by a licensed HVAC company and in habitable space of the residence....so DIY systems for garages, she sheds and shops don't qualify

Not worth it. Do not give it a thought.

Other points, your lines if you have them have POE oil, it is contaminated once air hits them, so you would need to replace or flush them, either way not cheap, especially new lines. New filter(s) will be needed
The used unit, how do you know it was not open to atmosphere at some point, again contaminated oil a possibility. Again filters involved
Then you have to wonder why a 2020 model is being sold.
