Used Portaband

Ok, photo of an older portaband from an upcoming auction. I'm game if you fellas have any idea if parts are available. Looks like the ones I'm familiar with, but will parts be available?
Any assistance is most appreciated.

They don't sell that specific model anymore. But it might still be pretty solid. Looks like it needs a new cord, but that's no big deal. Downside is, at most auctions, those go for quite a bit still. See if it can be tested first.

I have large reservations about buying used power tools, especially if they can't be tested out thoroughly before use. More so when they look like that.

Milwaukee does not support some of the older versions of their main stay tools. Critical parts, such as gears that are NLA make you SOL.

Depends on what you have to give for it.....but I wouldn't pay much when almost new ones are on CL every week.....

New ones aren't terribly expensive. Any reason you don't want new and want to chance that?

That looks like it has seen some use.
I bought a used one recently on kijiji for 175 cdn. Came with case and was used maybe twice. It looked new aside from a few metal filings in the teeth of the blade.

I wouldn't bother with that used one if it were me

I got one from CL too, but it was a couple of years ago. It had made ONE cut and the "plumber" got run off the job. $185 with a three pack of Milwaukee blades. I felt bad considering he had lost his job, but that's what he asked for it.
