You missed some last summer...I picked up a QR-25 model 325 for $250 near Stone Mountain. Had to replace the 3 phase motor but that is a hoss of a compresser. The local Quincy guy will sell a QT series for less than Northern Tools but it will still be $400 to $500 more than the one you are looking at. Most "good" compressors around here have 3 phase motors that you will need to replace for home use and that can get expensive (the 5 HP Baldor that I bought cost more than the compressor did.....).
Make sure you know the cost to convert one if you make an offer. Other brands to look at for a nice unit would be Champion, Saylor-Beall and possibly Eaton. They will have low RPM pumps and will last forever in a home shop if taken care of.
I was at my dealers today to buy 2 gallons of Quin-Syn oil, and a pair of air and oil filters. While I was there, we talked for about 45 minutes about compressors and people looking for bargains. He said that he rarely sells a QR series to someone unless they have owned one before and called most of the compressors out there comparable to the QT series as "good, 10 year compressors" that will last that long being run heavily at a shop. If used in a home shop and taken care of (oil changed, filter changed, etc.) they will last you a lifetime.
He said your kids would be handing down a QR series to your grandkids.....
As far as compressors in this area, the people that have them think they are worth more than a new compressor (which is why I drove 140 miles to get mine...).
