My neighbor has this Snap On box with some misc tools (non SO) He asked me if I would give him $400 for it and I said no. He said to make him an offer. I told him I would get back to him. I really do not need another box BUT....What do you guys think?

$400 seems fair
I have one of those and love it
wish I could have another and bolt them together to make a nice big box

if I was closer I would snag it

offer him $300 or $350 and concider it a smoking deal

My word! I could use it bigtime. Get it and I will pay you the money plus the shipping. I would have to pay you installments when I get my check. I really will...I could put the top on a cart so that I could reach it. Let me know, I have my 200.00 for the HF serice cart 5 drawer for 199.00 right now but will use it towards your set.

I wish it was closer to me, I'd give $500 for the box alone, it appears to be a twin to my work box although a little cleaner. Definitely worth $400, mine is 32 years old and solid as rock. That is a box that will last a lifetime.

Your pharmaceuticals have expired. Show the man his $400 in the desired denomination(s). I'd pay that, and right now, even if the included tools were all Fisher-Price. You just do not see that around here, even from the crackheads.

That box looks to be in pretty nice shape. $400 is a deal for the buyer. Since he may be willing to go down, offer $350 and if he doesn't take it, give him the $400.

Last thing I need is another toolbox, but I doubt I'd turn that deal down.

Since I didnt really want it I agreed to help the neighbor sell it. Does anyone know what model this box is? What would be a fair price? Im not gonna let him give it away for $400. He's a great guy that helps me all the time and does really need the money, thats why I could not take advantage of him. I have it in my garage now.

Kr537 top and kr557 bottom I believe, if you look on the back of the box it will be stamped into the back panel. On mine it is on the right side as you face the back of the box, a few inches from the top of the bottom box and a few inches from the bottom of the top box. Also should have a date of mfg stamped near it. I really dont know what it's actual worth is, I know I would pay easily in the $500 range for that box if it were in my area. Good luck and maybe someone can chime in with a value.

He needs to clean it up - polish/wax the paint - then show it at its best with larger better pictures. If someone whats a Snap-On box - they should be willing to pay in the $500.00 to $600.00 range.

Yea, I'm gonna clean it up real good and put it on Craigslist. He knows nothing about Craigslist or anything so I will have to do it for him. Depending on how nice I get it looking will determine how much I list it for. It should clean up nice, there are no dents or anything.

I would at least try for $700 to $800 for those boxes. Around here if you were not in a hurry you could probably get around $1000 for the pair.

Nice boxes!

Nice boxes!

That's gonna be up to him. I'm not sure how quick he wants the money. That kind of money he should wait it out. I also do not want it to become a permanent fixture in my garage.

Kr537 top and kr557 bottom I believe,

I agree, I have the same box (different logo though).

I paid 250$ or thereabouts for mine at an auction that was not advertised well, 1980 vintage boxes. But they are a little beat up (some dents) and most of the drawer slides were bent or crooked (warranty item from S-O though).

That box in nice shape with good slides and no dents, I'd pay 500$ to 600$ easy, maybe more depending on what tools are included. 400$ is a bargin if it's in really nice shape

I've sold several of those. The cheapest I think went for $350 (pretty beat up condition), and the most expensive went for $1,300. A few in the $800 range. But condition is a big factor. In excellent condition, I'd say around $800 or a little more is the going price. Those are for boxes with normal careful wear anr tear, but no big scratches and damage. If it's really pristine, you can try to get more, but sometimes the only way to get more is to find two bidders who both really want it, (eBay).

Those boxes look really nice except the big mark on the top of the lower box. If that's permanent, I would try respraying that one area...bound to look better than a giant glitch. If you're going to sell it without dealing with that spot, probably about $500 is fair.

It is a KR557B and KR537D. That one mark on the front would need to be painted, but I do not think I am going to do it. Im just gonna wax it and throw it on Craigslist. I would have to paint the entire box so it would match. Its not even mine so I am not sinking a ton of time in it. What I find remarkable is how easy and smooth these drawers pull in and out. I would'nt mind finding a larger SO bottom for trade and I would just give the neighbor $600 or so. I would try and trade the Snap On and my brand new, never used, US General 13 drawer

If he was willing to accept 500 or so I would drive out from NYC this weekend and get it myself. Then try to find a place to put it...
