Used Stand By Generators

Interested in this thread. nice to see the input as its got me thinking.

Just finished building our house last year. We were tempted to get a generac standby installed. Ended up not doing it to save some money. Still planning to do it down the line but not a high priority. I have a engine drive welder generator so we had a manual transfer switch installed. Only problem is my truck is tied to the house during use. I also dont have a ton of diesel on hand.

Seems everytime I pee a stupid puddle jumper plane flies overhead.

Oh well, hope they are embarrassed and fly their noisey shitboxes elsewhere than 100ft over my yard.

The issue with many of those "solutions" is needing to be home for it to work. They aren't "stand by" generators.

If I'm away, I need it to kick on so the place doesn't freeze up.
