Ok, I finally got my shop almost finished and I told the neighbor I would help him on his car.

It was 40 outside, windy and raining. Having the car inside at 70 degrees and no wind Awesome!

Putting the car up on the lift instead of laying on your back underneath Awesome!

Draining the oil out of the car and having it go straight into the oil pan instead of the wind
blowing it about 2 inches the other side of the oil pan. Awesome!

Taking off a power steering pump without laying on your back Awesome!

Carrying the power steering pump to your workbench without stepping over Christmas boxes, Halloween boxes,
or Easter boxes. Awesome!

Setting down the power steering pump on your work bench without having to stop and clean a place
off to set it down. Awesome!

Wiping off the fluids that fell on the epoxy floor instead of having another stain on the driveway Awesome!

Beer and cigars after it is done. Awesome!

This is going to be great.

I'm not saying you should give up the new shop but there does seem to be an awful lot you are going to miss by your own admission. :)

Unfortunately, it takes years of working on dirt floors, asphalt driveways, and cold garage floors to trully enjoy ones shop. Nowadays, I'd much rather tow someones car to my garage than even attempt to try to work at their place or with their tools. My place is still far from perfect, still in need of better lighting, but my BendPak sure makes things very easy to work on.

You are well on your way to being spoiled. You will be ridiculed for not making the appropriate sacrifice for your 'art'.
You will not care.

Having a place to get away from the family and that the neighbours envy - PRICELESS!!!

Congrats! It is amazing how much you appreciate a shop when you've worked outside. I truly appreciate what I have in my garage, the ability to get things done, and make a job enjoyable instead of just "wanting to get it over with".
