Just wondering what pocket tools work for you guys? For me the 8" adjustable wrenches are a little annoying to carry around and the pocket screwdrivers with the phillips screwdriver tips on the end keep stabbing me in the chest. Is there any tools you guys carry around that are a good all around useful tool that doesn't seem too annoying to carry around?

Victorinox spirit swisstool. It's the smaller multi-tool made by victorinox. It fits right in my pocket.

Can't stand multitools -- none of the tools on them but the knife ever seemed worth a **** -- but I do carry a knife. Out and about I carry a jack knife and a wallet -- that's it. At work I carry an old Klein electricians knife (2 different blades, extremely handy). It's got a big ring on the end of it for clipping to a tool belt, but I attached it to my work key ring (keys to the tool crib, electrical and access panels on machines and a little flash light).

If I'm really feeling it, I'll add a pocket screwdriver and a pair of little Channellocks to the mix, but that's rare.

I carry a Swiss Champ in my pocket every time I walk out the door. It has plenty of tools and large enough tools to tinker with and get by for quick fixes and such. Small enough that it's not a cumbersome tool to keep in the pocket all day.

I carry a leatherman. Mine has a spring loaded needle nose on it that I use all the time. Phillips screwdriver on it is pretty decent too.

The crosshead screwdriver on the Victorinox knives seems to be expertly engineered. It's not as good as a top of the line German philips screwdriver, but it handles no1 and no2 philips head and pozidriv screws very very well, and despite the fact that it has a shiny tip, it doesn't seem overly prone to torque out of screws. The can opener on the Victorinox knives is perfect for removing the giant staples shipping boxes are sometimes sealed with. The scissors are about as good as any small pair of scissors I've used including professional ones. The corkscrews work better than a number of store ones I've tried. The plier tips are matched well enough to pull splinters. And lastly it's always in my pocket or near me.

at work I carry a little tiny flat blade screw driver. I love that thing, use it multiple times a day, saves a lot of time for looking around, or going back to the box. Not at work, don't carry a damn thing cept my wallet and some cash.

I always carry a small Sabre brand 2 blade pocketknife. I have carried a knife daily since I was about 10 years old. I even carried a knife all through junior high and high school. It was a much different time back then.

I don't because I have been unable to find a decent holster. I have several gerber and leatherman tools, but the holsters are only large enough for the multi-tools. I want to carry a multi-tool, mini-Maglite, a marking pen and a small note pad. I want the holster to hold all that and to be balanced. I also want a holster that will not wear out in a few months.

I guess I am too choosy

Leatherman "wave". I've worn out several holsters in the time I've had it but I live close enough to Smoky Mountain Knife Works that it's not a big deal. They usually have bins full of holsters for a couple bucks each.

Snap on pocket flathead . Blue point extendable magnet. Those are the 2 I couldn't live with out drop a bolt no need running back to my box to grab a magnet. And when some parts finally show up pocket pocket flathead opens em up easy peezy.

leatherman wave in a custom open top holster. next to that on my belt is a stock leatherman wave leather holster with the extra bit sets and extention and a large rolled up zip tie. on my keyring is a 4" adjustable wrench with the 6" sized head (craftsman usa) and a flat 4-way screwdriver. I also carry a folding knife with breaker end and seatbelt cutter.

That works for me, too. I use a Sharpie for warnings about stuff like "do not load" and a regular ink pen for data like "steering linkage fell apart" because that's what people expect to see.

I used to carry a 3" knife with a thumb type opener on it. It was the handies thing going and I swear I was using it everyday.

I got into a shouting match with an ignorant SOB. I caught myself putting my hand in my pocket and holding the knife. I stopped arguing mid sentence, turned and walked away in the middle of the argument. I'm not a violent man and I don't think I would have pulled the knife.

I haven't had a pocket knife since then.

generally i'm more concerned with keeping my pockets under control and leave my tools for the bag but i always keep one of those sears one dollar 4-in-1 slotted keychain drivers and recently my girl scrounged one of the stanley 3' measures for me, that thing is cute, just those two plus an old pitted bottle key is it for me. now, when running around the data center, i'm always running around with a klein 11-in-1 in my back pocket, gotta watch out before i plop down on a chair... LOL.

I always have a pair of Channel-locks in my back pocket at work which is where I'm at now. Also a small Mity-lite.

I used to carry the very small swiss army knife. You know the one with the 1.5 " blade, a file, small scissors, etc. But now using any sharp tools at work without using cut resistant gloves will get you fired. Now i leave it in my desk drawer to avoid that chance. How long will it take this nanny state mentality to completely bankrupt this country?

Flip out utility knife daily, and old skool basic Leatherman if on the road.

Never without the knife unless FAA rules hinder it.

At work I carry a sharpie, a pen, a pocket screwdriver, a 12' stanley, a stinger flashlight, my droid and this knife. it auto reloads, holds 5 blades, has a clip and is pretty compact. $10 at HD and I love it. I use to carry a plain stanley utility knife. It seamed to be such a bother to change the blades.

I usually wear carpenter style dickies/carhartt/schmidtt pants and find its comfortable to carry a streamlight stylus pro, leatherman wave, and a m&p9c with pretty much no discomfort. You can really carry what ever you want on you if you just take some time to find the right pants and places to put things.

Does anyone that carries adjustable wrenches think the idea of the Kobalt adjustable with the 12 point box wrench stamped into the hanging hole is worth trying them? Just wondering if that feature is of use in a pocket carry adjustable?
