Picked up nine 4'x8' sheets for $70 total. Guy was going to clad a box truck, but didn't.

What can I use them for?

What can you make out of them?

I have a 3' PEXTO shear. Still looking for a box and pan brake.

If you don't have a need or a project to use that stuff, why don't you flip it for the profit? Cash is easier to store than 4' x 8' sheets of aluminum. Just a thought. :D

Trays and organizers for sure. Drip pans for those places you can't solve the leak. 1000 year flashings :) Heat shields for stoves.

3003 would be my choice for bending and welding though, the 6061-T6 is probably going to crack at the root of the bend, although it can be welded just fine.

You'd probably have to try to bend + weld a piece to see whats possible. Otherwise its probably a good wall covering as originally intended.

I do have a couple 4x8 HF trailers I could enclose......

Or build a teardrop.

Thick enough for some small trays to hang from tool or service carts or walls?

Dividers for organization in roller drawers?

Small boxes or carry trays or even small carry toolboxes?

I do have a PEXTO 30" bar folder.

That's going to depend on the alloy.

I think someone said to try bending a piece.

Personally, id resell it. Maybe to a racecar shop?

Is it in good shape or oxidized?

I'll be the next in the "depending on alloy" 3032 T-3 aluminum is a pretty common material around aviation and it comes in 0.032" variety most often. I'm guessing that's what have and it's a great multi purpose alloy for almost any small project! I use our scraps at work for making organizers in my toolbox or tidying up the hangar.

You should probably avoid using it for structural applications but light duty stuff is where it excels. Plus you should be able to weld it alright.

Btw, that's a nice deal if you're making a lot of your own things... slightly jealous here

The large sheets that I have seen have the alloy printed on it. This would be on the non finished side of course. If not do what Matt said and try to bend and weld some to see how it behaves. You should be able to bend .030 thick with a seam pliers or similar.

These don't have any printing on either side.

Also satin finish both sides and no clear covering to protect the finish. Nor are they painted one side, or tapered on the edges, like much of the trailer siding stuff.

Might be .032. Seems stiff. Wondered if it was SS, but doesn't weigh #40/sheet.

Buying big stuff you don't need, don't even know what it is, and will never use, is a true sign of a hoarder.

You can't even scrap it unless you cut it up smaller or take a big discount.

Nice move Bill :bitchslap

Where did you source the material from? May help determine alloy.

If I were opening my wallet for a Box and Pan I would just go straight to a mag brake.

But, it's ok if it was cheap enough ;-)

Nobody in the airplane business is gonna want that unless you can confirm the alloy. I'd make a nice large oil tray for drips under vehicles
