Replaced factory struts on passenger car with quick struts, so I have old complete assemblies. I could put these out for metal scrappers to pick up. But this is GJ - what can I do with these parts? Especially the springs - hate to throw those away. I can weld, so that would seem to open up a lot of possibilities, but nothing practical comes to mind.

Do you own a tractor?
If you don't own a 3 point tractor this might not make sense to you.
I'd like to put sway bars on my tractor to keep the impliment from swinging side to side so much
The adjustable, square rods in the photo.
But I also don't want it to be too rigid.
I have been thinking about using the springs from a pair of struts to give it some sway - more than solid sway bars but less than no sway bars.

I used the shaft from one to build a nice chrome plated shift lever for a Ford transfer case, after the original disappeared during a transmission change.

The original re-appeared a month later, when the garage was being cleaned up.
