Can I use 15ga 2” nails when I’ve run out of room for my flooring nailer? The other option is to run #7 2” trim head screws into the tongue. I’ve used the trim head screws before it’s a bit tedious.

Will the 15ga 2” nails provide enough holding power?

Last row is going to require glue and face nailing. I’ll cut the under layment accordingly.

I've done it. I adjusted my depth so the nail didnt blow through the board though. Just hold it and the same angle, add more nails if your super worried.

I had to do it on some floor repair when my wife uncovered wood floors under the carpet, super fun haha

I did it also, on a new bamboo installation. I had an 18 gauge floor nailer that was shooting a wide slab of an 18 ga "nail". It was blowing out the tongue. I switched to a 16 ga smart point brad nailer, shooting 2 inch nails and it worked fine. If I would have had access to a stapler, it may have worked also.

Just pony up for a pneumatic palm nailer designed to shoot flooring nails.

I bought one for a project and it worked flawlessly. It only loads one flooring nail at a time, so I wouldn’t recommend it for an entire floor, but for the last few rows, it’s fast enough. It wasn’t all that expensive, considering the total project cost.
