I've had the best luck looking through the magazine racks for specialty magazines like Mopar magazines and some woodworking magazines. Family Handyman latest issue has the 25%.

Thanks. I need to buy at least an impact driver, if not a drill / impact driver combo kit though in the next day or 2. Still looking for a good deal that I hope I can sweeten with one of these coupons. Take care.

Anyone here have any success or failure at Home Depot or Lowes in the MetroWest area of Boston at any specific stores? It would be good to know if we can use these coupons at a certain store. Like I said before, I tried at the Lowes in Milford and was denied. Thanks for all replies.

Denied at Home Depot in Mansfield and Bellingham. Seems like they may have instituted a policy against this in the Mass area.

No price match. Using a real coupon cutout from a magazine. They immediately say that they don't accept HF coupons as soon as they see it. They say the only non-HD coupons they match are Lowes.

Also HD will not match the Lowes 5% off when using a HD credit card. They say that is excluded. You would think this would be an easy one.

Yeah I never understood the HD credit card. The cashier always asks when I use the PRO checkout counter, and I always ask "are there any perks?". Nope. Okay, I'll take my 1.5% cashback on my normal card then.

Here in the San Jose area, you just ask for your 5% discount, show your Lowes card, and use your HD card to get 5% off at HD. They have some bar code on a piece of paper that they scan to enable the discount.

5% vs. 20%.....am I missing something? :headscrat

Grab a HF printed coupon and act like a man, ask for a price match and walk out as happy a kid with ice cream.

I used a Harbor Freight coupon at the Home Depot in Bellingham and I asked at the customer service counter just to verify that you can. $12 off a Black and Decker belt sander! Woohoo!

I didn't have time to review the entire thread, but I wanted to mention that the cashiers at Home Depot apparently have the authority to approve discounts/coupon usage up to a maximum dollar amount before requiring manager approval in their point of sale system. I believe that threshold is 40$ (at least in my area). Example, if you use 20% off $199 they won't need to call over a manager to approve; but if you go above then a manager will have to come validate and key in something.

I've used the 20% & 25% HF coupons at a few HDs in Delaware. My first experience was with the Ridgid cast iron stationary tablesaw. Went in and asked about the 20% HF coupon and was told no. I then found another employee who acted as a middleman between myself and the store manager over the next 30 minutes or so. They said they would give me 5%, then 10% followed by 15% and that was final. I thanked him for his time and said I'd go to the other HD or Sears and order theirs.. basically the exact same saw. He asked for one more go at his boss and came back with a dolly saying they would do the 20%. Since then I've used the 20% & 25% a few times on the larger items. I've even gone back with a neighbor for the same saw and they allowed him to use the 25% coupon.

As for Home Depots policy.. It's entirely the store manager's choice as to accept of deny any coupon that's not their own. They can say yes today and no tomorrow on the same item. Added is that thee are often several managers at each store of which some will accept them while others will not.

Enjoy!

I never had any problem at HD accepting HF coupons... Even received 25% off a stainless tool box combo. They need to make sales and if you are prepared to walk it has been my experience that you will win 9 out of 10 times you ask for a price match.

Doesn't really pertain to a HF or Lowe's coupon, but the other night I bought a Milwaukee M12 kit, and got a $30 discount just because I said I saw it on the internet for that price. Literally. That's all I did, and the cashier spoke to another cashier and said, "ok". I was stunned... $30 off of a $130 item?

Seems too easy, but it appears that the cashiers have a liberal amount of authority with granting discounts.

I brought in the print out listing the $99 then threw in a HF 20% coupon and walked out for $80. Now let the m12 collection begin.

In the past week I've used a HF 20% off coupon at HD on a 3/8" Husky roto ratchet that was already on clearance for $12. Used another HF coupon at Lowes for an additional 20% off on a pack of Bosch recip saw blades that were already 1/3'rd off.

No argument either time. Never hurts to ask

My point....I already have the "hot" wife that came my way. How hard is it to ask a check out girl to match a HF coupon?.....

I've tried twice. Both time they said they would only price match if they both carried the same item.

That's what I tried on. With that line they would have to carry the same part # and brand. They did take a Lowe's 10% off. Wouldn't take one of the Lowe's $15 off of $50. I imagine they had been told to stop giving so many discounts. I don't shop much there anyway. They are higher priced on most items than Menard's and Lowe's. They are all within a couple of miles of each other. Lowe's wouldn't take a HF 20% off either. I don't think I ever tried Menard's.

I just went to their website to ask if they would price match. I think this is going to be a your mileage may vary situation. If they say yes, I will print that email out next time I'm headed near there.

I am thinking about..but when do you draw the line about honesty... I love playing the game but so far I have lived by what the coupon stated.
