I have searched but have been unable to find any "recent" information.

Is anyone using these coupons at Home Depot?

Seems like the HF 20% coupon would come in handy when making a tool purchase.

It's hit or miss I've been sucessful in the past at the homedepot closest to the harbor freight
Most of the time employes are confused when you ask to use coupon from a different store. They ask the other cashiers or the manager and it's a yes or no or we'll accept it this one time based on my experiences.

Just gotta go try it out it's ymmv.

I've used them repeatedly at both the local HD & Lowes - usually on an item that is already heavily discounted. I just tell them that I have a competitor's coupon.

They usually stare at the coupon trying to read the (miniscule) expiration date, but as long as it's not expired, they've accepted it without any argument.

I've even used them on "return and buy back" items when they've dropped the price after my original purchase (Ryobi battery packs & Milwaukee M12 rotary tool).

Most of the managers I have ran into lately are complete jerks about anything. First I am like how does this even effect you and second why would I actually come back to your store.

It effects them where it counts. The managers are bonused by how much money the store makes. Every discount makes a difference, even if it's just pennies per transaction. This I know for a fact because I have a good friend who used to be a store manager for Lowes.

Just so you know, lumber and tools are the lowest margin items. Plants and fasteners are the highest margin items. You will have much better success negotiating those items.

MY BIL is a store manager at Lowe's and he HATES when I mention the 20% HF coupons. He has mentioned numerous times in the past the lack of profit margin on lumber and building materials.

I can totally understand Home Depot not wanting to take a HF 20% coupon on building materials since HF doesn't carry building materials.

I have no issues using Lowe's 10% off coupons at Home Depot. The cashiers all know how to handle them. I seem to recall they don't even require supervisor approval.

Low profit margin on tools? I would have guessed that would be the highest. The price of tools in the big box stores is absurd.

It definitely depends on the manager. At my local HD they will take the HFT coupon, though I don't exploit it too much to avoid wearing out the welcome. At the local Lowes they once refused to match a home depot advertisement for fiberglass insulation rolls. "It says we match and beat by 10% an identical item. Ours is blue theirs is red -- not identical!"

I use to work at HD in both Lumber and Hardware. I was close to becoming a department head, I couldn't deal with the drama there so I split off and started my own biz I still run today...

Anyways, HD doesn't make jack in lumber...it was always crazy the amount of "culled" lumber we chopped up and tossed down the compactor. Pretty much the same with concrete pallets. If they got hard, they get tossed out. At least a couple times a month we would have to dump a whole pallet because it got wet.

It really depends on the manager on duty whether the coupon is successful.

I will be trying the HF 25% coupon in the morning. I bought a Dewalt 20v brushless drill/impact combo the other day and am taking it back unused to at least upgrade to the model with the hammer drill. I will find out then

Bad idea. You need an original, officially printed coupon to have any chance to get HD to take it. They won't take printables or copies.

Printed 20 and 25% HF coupons and went to HD. The 25% was expired. Didn't realize it. Used the 20% and saved 51.80. Mgf approved

I'm buying a dewalt table saw at HD for $579.99 in a few days. Using an HF 20% coupon would save me $115.98.....wow, that would be sweet.

None of the stores around Mobile, AL will take them.. But, they will take Lowes coupons. They don't see HF as as a competitor they say.

^^^ This is always the response around here that they are not selling the same quality product.

Some things they have a valid argument, but I choose Pittsburgh Pro over Husky any day simply because they are the same quality at a lower price.

Go buy a Husky torque wrench and a Pittsburgh Pro torque wrench and come back and let us know if that still holds true. One of them is built in the USA. You can probably guess which one. :D

I just ordered the Dewalt table saw with rolling cart for $579.99....I had $500 worth of gift cards and still asked for HF discount with coupon in hand. I told the service desk cashier, "a bunch of my buddies online have said you all accept HF coupons, do you?". She just told me "no sorry we don't, we only accept Lowes coupons". No biggie I guess.....just FYI for you guys here in the SA area.....store at 1604/culebra.

I use the 20% off HF coupons all the time. I bought a 20v Dewalt cordless 4-1/2" grinder last week and it gave me $24 off of it.

Home depot will take lowes coupons for me but I gave up on the harbor freight there. On the other hand lowes takes the 20% for me every time.
