The class got some goodies last month and we are wiring it up to use.

4 ton Goodman heat pump at 240 V AC single phase with its own 24 V AC transformer.
4 ton A coil installed above the 2 stage vertical furnace.
Goodman 100K Btu two stage natural gas upright condensing furnace with Ecm blower and it's own 24 V AC transformer.

How to wire a thermostat that uses the heat pump for primary cooling and heating.
And to use the two stage furnace for auxiliary heat.

Model# of each component?

I'm sure thermostat wiring is buried in the installation manuals.

I have this configuration, just not Goodman equipment. I agree with @jlv03, between the equipment installation manual and the tstat manual you should find the wiring information that you need.

Make sure your thermostat will handle 2 heat sources. These are not uncommon.

Here's my Honeywell tstat manual. You can see the wiring starting on pg 6.

No wifi, which is what I wanted but many hvac system configurations are supported

You need a dual fuel thermostat.

It may also need to be multi stage depending on your equipment.

You also need to know your balance point. This gets programmed into the thermostat.

Thermostat will need outdoor temperature monitoring capability.
