Need some sage wisdom/thoughts on using radiant barrier OSB Tech Board to face the interior walls of my garage/shop with the foil facing inward. My rational is:
1. it would give much more structural stability than sheet rock. 2. The reflective face would reflect BOTH radiant heat and light off the walls. 3. Coated with crystal clear urethane to have a hard, cleanable surface. 4. It would give me a solid material to mount 4'x8'x1/4" peg board for tool holders.
I'm an older guy who needs a lot of light to see well. I live at 3K ft elevation in the Sierra Foothills with cold (20*) Winters and hot (100+*) Summers. The shop is a combination of wood, metal and auto/motorcycle fabrication with electric flameless forced air heat and a window air conditioning unit; all with dust filtering. It is well insulated. I recently converted all the T-8 lighting to high output 4' LED tubes. Any thoughts on whether this would work?
