Using tape around heat in bathroom fan?

I'm installing a bathroom fan and the back side of it is open to my attic. The metal fan enclosure has a lot of holes drilled into (presumably pre-drilled for mounting) it and I want to tape all of those over so that I'm not venting heat and moisture directly into the attic even when the fan/heater isn't running.

I know there is metal hvac tape available. But what I'm wondering is if the type of tape that I use even matters at all? I'm concerned that since the heater has those coils that heat up that if I use the wrong tape it could ignite. But then it may be all the heat is directed out of the unit and the enclosure doesn't see much heat.

Use aluminum furnace tape. Put it on the outside of the enclosure so, if it does fail, it won't fall on or near the heating coil.

I would follow the manufactures instructions, they must include ways to do it without pumping heat and moisture into your attic.
