Im going to be swapping heads on my dart blocked 347 shortly, and that means I will have to adjust the valves afterwards. Since my harmonic balancer doesn't have timing tape all the way around it, I was thinking about using my Snapon Techangle ATECH3FR250B, to rotate the motor 90 degrees to adjust the next set of valves. Does anyone see any problem with this method? It wont exceed the max torque capacity of the torque wrench, so it seems like pretty convenient method.

if you know the timing order, you can bump the motor with the starter, it will always stop on compression stroke, depending on which valve you start with, you bump it and do the next one in order.

It'll work but it's way more complicated than it needs to be. The base circle of the cam is large enough that being at exactly TDC is not that critical.

I use the Exhaust opening/Intake closing Method.
I have a 1500 Horsepower 7 second drag car, that i spin over 9000 rpm at times, i check valve lash after every pass, probably not necessary but allows me to monitor the engines valvetrain for any potential problems that may have happened on a run. Its part of my maintenance routine.
Pretty simple, I just bar the engine over and watch the valvetrain on one bank starting with the first cylinder and then Set the intake valve lash when the exhaust valve is beginning to open. This will put the intake lifter at the base circle which is where you want it to be. Then set the exhaust valve lash when the intake valve is about halfway down on the closing side. Continue with the other cylinders,then repeat the process on the other bank. Leave your Techwrench in the box.
