After living in one spot for 40 plus years, I had to move in order for the wife and I to help with caring for our twin grandsons. I left behind a 28’x40’ garage for a home in a restricted subdivision. The plus side was it was a fairly large lot and the home came with two garage spaces.

My upper level two car garage with about a 6’ of offset space on the left.

This garage will be mostly parking space and some outdoor equipment storage and since the was a cubbyhole space in the right rear corner by the house entry door, I do have a full size side by side refrigerator/freezer that just fits.

The reason I picked this house over many others.

The basement garage space. That’s a 10’ door and the space is 15’ wide and the full depth of the basement.

This shot shows the unfinished living space portion of the walk out basement. The 6 panel door you see is access into the garage area but that didn’t last long.

To maximize my working space and still leave a good living area in the balance of the basement some walls had to go and some had to be added.

The door and 10’ of wall is removed and gave me better access to another section of the basement. The wall removed and a new wall going up.

This gave me an additional 13’x21’ o of work/storage space. I still haven’t decided on the best layout for everything to maximize space but it fills up quick.

Still a lot of organizing and finish work to do but a lot better than it was 6 months ago. Best part of the basement garage is that it is heated and cooled, never had that before. Just did a brake overhaul on my Nissan Titan and never broke a sweat.
