USVC hammer?

My dad gave me an old ball pien hammer and said it was my grandfathers. Cleaning it up I noticed it was Stamped USVC. Any idea what USVC was?

Maybe United States Veterans Corps ?

Spacing on the "V" looks off and you can see a small vertical line, certainly looks like it is really an "M"....

I chatted with my dad a bit. My grandfather was too old to fight in WW2 but helped with the war effort for training, etc. so he thinks it was either US Marine Corps or US Victory Corps. Still no confirmation.

That V is an M.

That V is a M. The bottom of the "v" is higher than the other letters, which is the "v" section of a "M".
