These Utica 87-7 duckbill pliers have a sideways bend. Did someone make these? They look pretty well made.

I have to believe that the "-7" in the part number is alluding to that bend somehow, as a No. 87 Duckbill Plier is a straightforward pair in their own right. My first thought is possibly a fishing implement. Plus, the length of the bent pincers wouldn't index together, the top would be shorter than the bottom.

A quick dip into the internet show these to be homemade, albeit done well. The information shows the 87-7 to be "extra long duckbill pliers" with no bend. A search also shows them to be much leaner at the end than the ones pictured, which would explain the matching tips after a bend - they were ground down to match.

The -7 in the part number refers to the length, in this case 7 inches. The first number is the model number. For example the number 50 lineman pliers come in 50-4, 50-5, 50-6, 50-8 same pliers different lengths.
