I want to install a much needed utility sink/laundry tub/laundry sink whatever you want to call it, in my laundry room. The house was rebuilt 2 years ago but the contractors didnt put a sink in there. There is a typical laundry machine panel with a hot and cold water line and a drain. To the left of it about 24 inches off the ground there is what appears to be a cleanout. As far as i can see after removing the cleanout plug, the pipe just runs straight up and down with a tee being where the cover itself is attached. It doesnt appear to connect to the washer piping as far as i can tell. Can i simply attach the utility sink ptrap/drain to this using some sort of adapter and use it as a drain?
Ive attached two pictures for a basic shot of what im dealing with. Since the house was rebuilt under insurance the builders used the cheapest things available and didnt leave the house 100% to how it was. So im not sure if this was another thing they didnt want to buy but plumbed correctly. Sorry about all the dirt.. i live in arizona and the rear door stays open half the day.
