I am making a light duty 3-1/2' x 7' cart for pickup up brush and yard waste . I am using 2x2x1/8" steel tubing with a plywood floor. It will be pulled by a lawn tractor and never see a road. I am looking for inexpensive axle ,tire, wheel ideas. No need for springs. What does everyone think?

Junkyard rear axle from a front wheel drive car. Lose the springs, keep the bigger wheels, it will roll nice and easy. We used the throwaway donut spares that came with the cars in the 90's. junkyards gave those things away.

Get 2 wheels/tires for the front of garden tractor. Weld a stick of 3/4" steel rod to your frame. Garden tractor tires are made for 3/4" axles, so just slide them on, pump in some grease, and you are set.

Did this with an old tractor.

Took the rear end apart, welded the 8" or so long axles to a pice of angle iron to extend the width, pulled the key out and kept it greased.
