Looking to install utility style wall cabinets above our washer / dryer in our laundry room. Preferably 16 inches deep. Looking for some recommendations that are a balance between price and quality. Preferably painted white.

A few of the RTA cabinet places online offer custom builds. Try City or Barker to see if you can get exactly what you want.

I put NewAge Pro 3.0 cabinets in my attached garage six months ago. White with silvery-grey “platinum” doors. A set ordered from Costco.com. I’m quite impressed so far.

Costco doesn’t sell individual units, but you can see how the wall cabinets look there or on the NewAge website. My floor-standing tall cabinets are something like 24” deep, but I’m pretty sure the wall cabinets are less than your target 16”.

Wow exactly the mission we were on today. Went to IKEA and found these. All sorts of widths, heights and depths in stock. I’m generally anti glue sawdust guy but for a laundry area these will work. 2 of these under $100 works for our lake laundry area.

I bought whatever the stock unfinished cabinets that were Menards house brand for our utility room about 7 years ago. I bought uppers and lowers which have held up fine. I would buy them again.

Being the house brand, I would think they build in to mill. I have an extra one in the garage, I might be able to get a picture of the brand.

Like I said, they were unfinished, I stained and used poly on them...I have no doubt they would take primer/paint well.

I have used the unfinished oak, quality is fine for an inexpensive cabinet but they don’t paint up wall due to large pores in oak. Hence, I usually just clear finish; if you paint them do several coats of heavy bodied primer first and sand between and the will look good although grain will still be pronounced.

When dealing with unfinished wood you must seal it first so the paint doesn't **** in.

We've been very happy with our Ikea pantry cabinet. It's been plenty strong/durable.
