I had to go on Friday to another tool sale and I had to miss the one in my area.
Well I thought I had better go this morning when it opened and just as I thought it was picked clean.

Although I picked some great items that the hawks had missed, not sure how they could miss them but my good luck this morning.

Long story short version the man running the place kept wanting me to take small items and how could I say no to his low prices. I picked up this V.T. & Co. small wooden screwdriver from my Home state of Athens, Ohio.

For a very nice write up you can check out the link to AA and GJ members Twertsy's web-site for more information.

This is my only Vanadium Tool Co piece. I found it in one of the Bonney top chests I bought last year. Nice wrench with V- Gullets. Most of the chrome or nickel plating is flaking off tho.

I've been meaning to post this big Vanadium Tool Co. #145 screwdriver for a while. It was in my dad's tools that I inherited. I remember seeing it around when I was a kid, but it was in the box of precision tools that were off-limits to me. I remember I always wondered why Dad had this big screwdriver in the box of fancy tools.

It was only when I did a little research here on GJ that I found out that VTC was in Athens, Ohio. Which I found interesting, because we lived in Athens at the time. Near as I can tell Dad must have picked up this screwdriver that he didn't really have much need for on a whim.

It's barely used and still in near-new condition. I don't have much need for it, but it brings back memories of my Dad and my childhood years in Athens, so it will always have a place in my toolbox.

V. T. Co. angle wrench set, with missing sizes: 3/8", 13/16", and 1". Curiously, 5/16" size is present, but not in the No. 63 (1963?) catalog.
I'd sure love to find the missing ones.

Thanks for the Vanadium Angle Wrench link. It looks like Vanadium tools evolved from somewhat crude & spartan to more polished & refined over the years.
