I seem to be running into evap codes more and more, probably have to get a smoke machine. Found a Vacutec Evap Pro for sale locally for what I think is a good deal. Anything to look out for? Pros and cons of this unit compared to another?
TIA, Jim

Well, I went ahead and bought it, seemed like too good a deal to chance missing out on. Seller is a straight shooter, came with all the accessories plus a few more he added, in their own tool box. Interestingly, he added the gas cap adapter from the Redline machine you guys recommended. Came with brand new UV glasses, spare bottle of smoke fluid, air pressure regulator with gauge, and some other misc. stuff.

When I worked at a dealer we had 2 evap machines one just did smoke and was the most used one at first. Then when they lowered the size of leak that would set a code the one with the smoke didn't work well. I finally setup the one with the gauges and installed the new flow meters on it that had been sitting in a box. I learned how to use it and became fairly good at finding Evap leaks. The flow meters cut down on the amount of time it took to find the leak and was great at verifying the repair.

Nice new toy. What do these sell for new vs used?

Guy I bought it off said he paid $2200, Tooltopia has this one on special for $1290. in an email I got yesterday. I paid $350, seemed better than home made to me, a little easier to charge a customer for diagnosing with a pro machine than something cobbled together.
