i recently inherited a bunch of hand tools from my grandfather and even though i will NEVER even think of selling them id like to gauge their value.....

first is basically a complete set of Craftsman "v " ratchets, wrenches and sockets....1/4,3/8 and 1/2 sockets and what looks like a complete run of double open end wrenches...

i also have some double box end "buffalo " wrenches....cant figure out a definite brand but they were made in buffalo ,n.y.

there is alot of tools i still need to go through but these were in his basic toolbox
thanks for any info

I'd argue that the craftsman v series is some of craftsman's best work. It's probably not worth too much, maybe a couple of bucks a piece tops, but it's quality and I'd definitely keep it.
I can't really speak to the buffalo tools. I have a couple buffalo wrenches but I have no idea of value there.

Most old wrenches tend to be worth just a few bucks each unless they're REALLY large, or if they're Snap-On. Add a few dollars if they're in exceptionally good condition.

Yeah just the fact that they were his and he pretty much got me started in my tool addiction is enough to make them invaluable to me....im actually gonna figure out a pegboard display for them and keep them as" emergency use only" since the wear and tear on them can't be replaced....

I'm in the same boat. My Grandfathers tools are all Snap On and Bluepoint. I would however like to sell some of the bigger stuff. I have a set of 3/4 sockets and a 3/4 Ratchet head with a pipe insert. The biggest socket is 2 1/2 all the way down to around 3/4. I have a stockpile of Reamers and some tools that I don't even know what they are. But I don't know how much they are worth.

Would that be Barcalo Buffalo? Doesn't seem to sell for much, but is interesting.
