Valve Core Tools - What do you use?

My most used one of the bunch is the aircraft style tool. The Milton one works well too.

Presta valves usually have removable cores now, mostly due to the widespread use of valve extenders on deep rims.

Kudos to Astro-Pneumatic for reaching out to me and quickly sending out two replacements.
I'm glad they sent TWO tools because one worked OK and the other performed poorly.
The main issue I had is in getting the prongs to open wide enough to fit over the end of the valve stem. I was able to fiddle the the tool enough that I did eventually manage to get ONE of the grabbers to work but it still took what I consider a bit of force and effort before it functioned as described.
At least this set was able to grab the stem and retract as they're supposed too.
Granted it's a new tool and hopefully with a bit of time and use the prongs will open up a bit more and slide over the end of the stem easier.
The thing is, I don't see myself using it often enough for that to ever happen.
I want to like this tool, I really do. I tried both "grabbers" that Astro-Pneumatic graciously sent me on a couple of different Kendra bike tubes. Each tube had slightly different valve cores.
One of the tools performed well right out of the packaging while the other took some time to "break in" and was clunky to operate.
I marked the one the worked well with a red paint pen.
Perhaps if I was changing valve cores all day in the dessert I could find more value in this tool but for now I'm going to stick with my $2 Milton 2-in-1 valve core tool because it simply works effortlessly without any fussing around.
I'm really impressed with the great customer service; but sadly, not the tool.

I agree with the jaws. I wish they would be "spring loaded" to stay out and clamp down when retracted.

Say, that is nice, It clamps on to the core so it dont fly away.
Nothing worse than when there's air in the tire, and the core blows across the room, and you don't have a bunch of them.

I bought a 4pc set on truck once...was an impulse buy but Its been a great set...like you said, it was only available in Orange. I'd kill for the same set in Green.
This is true, but SO does have the valve core tool available in Green these days: TR107AG

I also have one of those 4-way tools... but my main go-to is a home made schrader tool.
I took an old screwdriver that I had previously broken the head off of - cut it flush and then used a cut-off wheel to cut a vertical notch in it - took a few minutes and was free

Guess Im the only loser with a collection of Slime bottle caps 
One of those will last for about 20-30 uses then you cant tighten very well, toss it and grab another form the pile

Please let me know if you do come up with that. I like, use and recommend your current one but I do think it would be better.

I mainly work on my small fleet of semi tractors and use the 4 way tool mounted on a cut off truck tractor valve stem with the center easy out portion pressed out, my dad worked for Gates Rubber company in the 60's and that is what they used.
i like mine
I have the same one along with a 4in1 I usually don't care witch one I grab.
