Any recommendations for brand and Mil for vapor barrier under slab? I've looked at a bunch of different ones from the big box stores but just not sure what would work best.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Stego wrap 10mil available from the construction materials houses.....you won't be sorry that you spent a few extra bucks on something that won't get punched full of holes simply by walking on it.

I used 6mil black poly, and immediately put 2" foam over it. Had to tiptoe a bit after the plastic to keep from ripping, and have subsequently been told it will deteriorate and is not durable enough. Not sure if I buy it, but I guess in hindsight I would have used the 10mil product made for the purpose. That said, in 5 years I've never had a sweating floor or any moisture for that matter, so I guess it's working?

If you consider the affect of punching a hundred 2 mil holes in a thousand square foot slab, which will be protected forever by a 4" thick 4000 psi I concrete slab, you will look elsewhere for things to worry over :).

Yes, we use it under all of our work including heated driveways. XPS qualifies without the plastic, so 6 mil. is over-kill. Sounds like a country song...

Off topic but if you are planning to insulate under the slab, there is a gut right there in Akron that sells used EPS and XPS rigid foam board panels on Craigslist.
