Variable Speed Random Orbit Polisher Vs. Non-Variable Speed (Help Me Choose a ROS)

Is there a benefit of purchasing a random orbit sander without the variable speed feature?

Also, are any of the following 5" inch models highly regarded?
Black & Decker BDERO100
Makita BO5041K
Bosch 3725DEVS
Bosch ROS20VSC
Festool ETS 125
Makita BO5031K

I'm thinking of using one as a finishing sander and the other as a powerhouse for removing lots of material from various wood pieces; that includes restoring furniture

I currently have the ROS20VSC and Black & Decker BDERO100, but together they appear redundant, and I wouldn't mind something slightly more powerful.

Should I get rid of the B&D and or Bosch and go with a Festool (currently on sale) and other Bosch or Makita instead? (one being solely as a finisher and other with more oomph?)

Own and previously used a Porter Cable 7424
I have the sander set up but also picked up some polishing pads in 5"

It's no slug... sanded my ex bosses log home with several and they are work horses.

Wouldn't I be better off getting just the Festool 571817 ETS 125 EQ instead of the Festool 201234 "PRO 5 LTD" ETS 125 REQ and Bosch 3725DEVS Combination?
