Various lubricant uses

Got a hell of a deal on about 50 different cans of lube at an auction but have no idea what some of it is even used for. Figure someone one here should know. The list and a few pics:

Dry Graphite
Selex 100 Silicone lube
White lithium lube
High heat penetrating gel lube

All the others I know I have a use for and/or know at least what they do.





Everything else is either paint, penetrating oil, cutting oil, chain lube or air tool lube. I think that is more dry graphite (9 cans) than I could ever dream of using. Came from a Machinist auction. Practically gave the old lathes and mills away.

White lithium is a good general purpose grease, it is typically the recommended lubricant for use on car door hinges

Dry graphite is great for lubricating locks, just a puff in the key hole. I used some a few days ago for lubing a piece of black plastic pipe before inserting a coax cable.

The high heat penetrating gel lube might work good on roller chains.

I use silicone on any friction window parts. Auto and home.

Also good on hinges/door locks...or at least I've used it before on that. Never seen it in a can though.

The high heat lube is for rotational assemblies (I'd assume). You could use it for drivetrain, personally I wouldn't. Don't use it on internals. It's probably industrial stuff for turbines of various sorts (maybe helicopter rotors even). You can use it as general purpose and it'll probably last a long time.

Thanks guys, I've only ever seen graphite in tubes. Paid $10 for the whole lot. Also got a 1" drive Plvmb ratchet and 3/4 drive Williams ratchet for $25, trying to find out more on the Plvmb now.

I use dry graphite on my tractor's 3pt. parts as do many tractor owners.
