When I 1st looked at these in the pile of rusty tools I'd bought I thought "I'll turn those into blacksmith tongs easily". When wire wheeling the rust off everything I saw the name Vaughan ---------------- Co. I figured I'd post a photo here mainly because of the sad story of the company. These have been abused, the ends don't meet so they are ripe for converting into tongs.

RTM that book is a field day! Saved it! Thank You! These look like #407 on pg 13, nail cutter nippers. My blacksmith tool score must have belonged to a farrier.

Mike, I was referring to Vaughan going down recently. Very sad.
